WRAPPED, Video Installation, 2017

WRAPPED is a multiscreen projection processed in real-time through Max MSP and Jitter. It is still a work in progress. This piece distorts and transforms the artist female body into a malleable and sculptural material. The physical appearance of the female shape is altered and deconstructed of its stereotypes to question conventional notions of feminine beauty. The structure of the piece unfolds itself physically and digitally. The projections restructure the body shape by enveloping it with plastic wraps to reexamine the archetype of the female subject and the space it occupies. Though editing and real-time processing, WRAPPED creates a new identity transforming the body into something grotesque and unnatural, but still appealing.
